American Red Cross Volunteer Partnership Program – We Need You!

For those of you who were not at the recent Hurricane Forum, the American Red Cross gave a presentation on their Corporate Volunteer Partnership Program.

Basically this is a program that goes out to the community and solicits volunteers to help on two fronts of a disaster – Shelter Assistance and Disaster Assessment.  The Red Cross provides training to local residents to help in disaster situations such as Hurricanes, Tornadoes, etc.

They will provide training at no cost.  Training is for three hours for one day.  In the event of a disaster, you will be called upon to provide your support.  Hundreds of volunteers are desperately needed when the time comes.

The American Red Cross has come to Indigo Run to ask for your help.  We will be hosting a training for residents who would like to participate in the Volunteer Partnership Program.

When:  Monday, August 23

Time:  1-4 p.m.

Where:  Indigo Hall

Indigo Run currently has 13 residents volunteering for this program.  If you would like to participate or would like more information, please call Kathy at 689-7300 as soon as possible.

Your help is desperately needed and appreciated.  Thank you.
