IndigoRunMen (IRM) was formed in 2007 to encourage camaraderie and interaction among all men of Indigo Run.  This is accomplished through guest speaker programs, field trips and various clubs.  IRM currently has nearly 200 members.

Guest Speaker Program and Field Trips

Over the past few years, meetings have been held featuring local Government leaders (Mayor, Sheriff, Fire and Rescue Chief, County Council Member, etc.) and other experts who have addressed such subjects as historic events, investment strategies, PGA Tour, NFL Football and international affairs.   Recently, we hosted a diverse group of speakers that included:  SC State Senator, Retired Rear Admiral, Hilton Head Town Manager, Candidates for County Councilman and a representative from the Waddell Mari-Culture Center.  Although most meetings occur on the first Tuesday morning of each month, lunch and dinner meetings are occasionally held.

The IRM has sponsored a limited number of field trips over the past few years.  These have included trips to the 8^th Air Force Museum, Savannah Sand Gnat baseball and Georgia Southern football games.  We will continue to sponsor field trips as suggested by our members.

IRM Clubs

Bean Bag Club:  This Club conducts periodic singles and doubles events.  It is similar to horseshoes except you use wooden platforms and bean bags instead of horseshoes and metal stakes.

Book Club:  The Book Club provides a forum for reading, examination and discussion of various genes of writing as selected by club members.

Cooking Club:  This Club gathers on a regular basis to cook, eat, drink, and be merry.  Members discuss recipes, food preparation, cooking techniques, wine parings, and kitchen equipment.

Cycling Club:   This Club organizes bicycle riding opportunities, both on and off island, for different levels of riding interests or abilities.

Fishing Club:  This Club promotes saltwater and freshwater fishing activities for its members. Join the Fishing Club to discover fishing tips and techniques, increasing your own fishing skills and enjoyment on the water.

Golf Club:  The IRM Golf Club organizes golf tournaments at local and regional courses.  It also organizes golf outings to area and regional PGA Tour events.

Investment Club:  All members of this Club are equal partners.  "Founding Members" invested an initial amount and are committed to a fixed quarterly investment.  Members joining after the first day of investment will come in at the then appropriate unit value and commit to the same quarterly additional investment.

Photography Club:  The Club focus is on digital photography and how to take better photographs. Members participate in discussions, talks, field trips and hands-on sessions to develop a better understanding of digital photography.

Wood Working Club:  This Club promotes the craft of woodworking and encourages members to become involved in their hobby, with education and sharing of wood working knowledge at all skill levels.

Fine Wine and Spirits Club:  The intent of this Club is to further the interest, knowledge and enjoyment of fine wines and spirits.  Group tastings are held and special promotions from local and regional distributors are shared.

While the Clubs, Guest Speaker and Field Trip Programs are of great interest to our members, the real value of these activities is the friendships and camaraderie that results from participating.
