Jim Kelly
President
Jim was born and raised in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and attended Villanova University, with a BS degree in Economics and Pre-Law. He also attended Duke University School of Business and completed a six week Business Management course. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Jim joined USG Corporation as a sales/ marketing correspondent and began a 37 year career holding various management positions in sales, marketing and distribution. He retired in 1992 as Vice President of Marketing.
Shortly after moving to Hilton Head, Jim became involved in community affairs. Recognizing that the developer, Melrose Corporation, would soon transfer management and control of Indigo Run to the property owners, he along with several other residents formed the Indigo Run Transition Committee. As chairman of this group [1996-2000] Jim met with Melrose management quarterly and over four years became familiar with the administrative, operational and financial management of the community. This committee also negotiated the transfer contracts with Melrose and CCA. Subsequent to the transfer of management and control to the Association he served as General Manager [2001], President [2002] and a member of the Board of Directors [2001-2007]. He continues to work for the community as a member of the ARB and the home inspection team. In addition to his community involvement, Jim served on The Town of Hilton Head Planning Commission [1998-2001] and currently is a volunteer driver and Board Member of Second Helpings.Jim enjoys golfing, travel and trips with his wife Nell to visit their combined family of seven children and sixteen grandchildren.
Bill John
Vice President
Mr. John earned BBA and MBA degrees from George Washington University and did post graduate study at the University of Virginia. Bill began his business career as a civilian employee of the Navy and later served for 12 years as the Director of missile and weapon systems acquisition. Following an early retirement, he joined Pacific Environmental Services as their Controller and Treasurer. In that position, he directed all business operations of the corporation, which provided environmental and civil engineering services to clients nationwide.Bill is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of CPAs.
Mr. John has been a property owner since 2004.
Gus Kane
Secretary
Mr. Kane served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 – 1956. He is a graduate of St. Peter’s College with a BS in Economics and Business Administration. He retired from the IBM Corporation in 1991 after thirty-one years of service in marketing and management positions in the New York area. He owned and operated a professional IT services consulting business for many years. Mr. Kane has been a property owner since 2005.
Jack ConlonMr. Conlon served three years in the U.S. Navy as an electronic technician, then commenced his formal education receiving a BS Degree, with a major in Accounting, from Northeastern University, Boston, and an MBA degree in Finance from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Jack then became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for several years in the Boston office of a national accounting firm initially on the auditing staff and subsequently in management.He then ventured into private industry, initially as VP Finance for a large transportation company, operating in the eastern portions of the U.S. and Canada, and then as President and majority stock holder of a storage and distribution firm serving customers in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Conlon has been a property owner since 2006.

Bob Gregory
Mr. Gregory attended Hobart and Notre Dame and received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School. He worked in brand and account management (Bristol-Myers-Squibb and Foote, Cone & Belding), and spent a majority of his career in global planning (PepsiCo Int’l and Ernst & Young Int’l).Mr. Gregory has been a property owner since 2004.
Thomas E. Nugent
Mr. Nugent has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Seton Hall University and a Masters of Business Administration from Rutgers University. He is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for PlanMember Securities Corporation, a $2 billion retirement planning company and also is the Chief Investment Officer for Victoria Capital Management, a local investment advisor. Tom has 42 years of investment experience managing both investment portfolios and investment professionals at regional banks, and at both a West Coast and New York-based mutual fund companies. Prior to entering the private sector, Tom served in both Viet Nam and the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Nugent has been a property owner since 2001.
Thomas C. Briley
A native of Portland, TN, Mr. Briley studied English and history at David Lipscomb University in Nashville. He spent five years as a sports writer for The Tennessean is Nashville. He worked for The Associated Press for 13 years in Maryland, Delaware, Alaska, Pennsylvannia and West Virginia. The last 25 years of his career were spent with the Ogden Newspapers, as editor in Wheeling, WV and as publisher in Martins Ferry OH, Fort Dodge, IA and Williamsport, PA.
He was a member of the Home Inspection Program team and now serves as chairmen of the Governance Committee. Tom previously was a member of various committees of The Golf Club at Indigo Run and served four years on the advisory board of governors, the final year as chairman.
He has been an Indigo Run property owner for 15 years and a resident for 12 years.
